One of the most successful Russian TV journalists of recent times, Vladimir Pozner, will be visiting the University of Oxford on 7th March for an event organized jointly by the Oxford Russian Society and the Russkiy Mir Programme at Nissan Lecture Theatre, St Antony’s College.
A legendary TV anchor, Mr Pozner is viewed by many as Russia’s Larry King. He became famous in the later years of the Cold War for literally “bridging” the US and the Soviet Union as the host of bilateral TV discussions carried via satellite. He now hosts his own TV show Pozner, where his guests have included Mikhail Gorbachev and Hillary Clinton.
The laureate of various Russian and international TV awards, Vladimir Pozner also served for many years as President of the Russian Television Academy.
His talk, which will be in English, will begin at 7 pm on Thursday 7th March in the Nissan Lecture Theatre at St Antony’s College. Entry is free and all are welcome, but please arrive in good time to reserve your seat.
The event is supported by the Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre, St Antony’s College.
